Annual General
Meeting John McDonald wii be conducting 3 limekiln tours - at 12:15, 12:45, and 1:15. John's book "Halton Sketches Revisited" is into its 3rd printing and is available in local bookstores. John lived at Dolly Varden and attended school in Limehouse. His knowledge on the history of Halton Hills is extensive. Gerry Inglis, stonemason and longtime resident of the area, has kindly agreed to attend the AGM. He will take us to the powderhouse and explain what he plans to do to restore it or he may have already started by then. Stonework is weather dependent! See you there!

The Limehouse Kiln Society received a $29,000 grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation. The following description is taken from the Ontario Trillium Foundation's website:
The Society has already approached and hired Gerry Inglis (a well known
and respected stonemason from Glen Williams). He hopes to start work on
the Powder magazine toward mid or late June. The Society is involved in
a 3-way management agreement with Credit Valley Conservation and the Town
of Halton Hills. The Society hopes to document the site thoroughly before
work begins so as to keep an accurate record of the restoration process.
Credit Valley Conservation is also installing new entry gates, as well
as fencing for the whole demised area which is badly needed. It is expected
that this will be done shortly.
The Limehouse Kiln Society received $2,173.00 from The Aggregate Producers' Association of Ontario . Click on the "Event Photo" button to see a photo taken at the presentation.
